Channel 101 is a monthly event in Los Angeles run by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab (the creators and writers of '' Heat Vision And Jack '') where participants submit a TV show Pilot (under five minutes in length). After being submitted, a panel reviews the submissions and decides which ones should be shown at the monthly screening. The panel consists of the previous month's Prime Time directors. At the screening, the audience votes on which shows they would like to see return. The shows with the most votes are entered into the Prime Time slots on the Channel 101 website, and get to keep producing an episode each month until their show fails to receive enough votes to compete with other shows, at which point the show is cancelled. CHANNEL 101 TERMINOLOGY
Named after Chris Chauncey, who called the first "Chauncey" for his pilot "The Serious Businessman" The chauncey was temporarily done away with in favor of an "internet vote" determining whether or not a "rejected pilot" deserved to be shown at the monthly screening. This was a short-lived venture and chaunceys have been reinstated. Most chaunceys have been 'coughed off', as in shut off before the pilot even finished as the audience members deemed it to be too boring or bad to watch. EXTERNAL LINK
