EARLY YEARS & FAMILY

Wilson started her theater career at the age of five with Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS). She attended Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and went on to the Tisch School of Arts at New York University , where she earned a BFA in drama.

Wilson is the mother of three children. Daughters Serena and Joy were born in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Son Michael was born on October 31, 2005. Wilson's character on ''Grey's Anatomy'' also become pregnant with a son during this pregnancy.
