Information About

Champagne Gosset

For over four centuries, the oldest Winery or more exactly Wine House of Champagne (in 1584 Jean Gosset, a grape grower in Ay, left a Vineyard to Pierre Gosset who began to export his wines under his name) has been producing wines. Gosset was reputedly a favorite at the court of Francois I and Henri IV .

While Gosset remained in the same family until 1993 , it was only under new ownership that it started gaining widespread name recognition.

Under the management of Beatrice Cointreau, (also the head of Cognac Frapin), Gosset succeeded in increasing its production to one million bottles in 2005.

Gosset wines are made from a blend of Pinot Noir , Chardonnay , and Pinot Meunier , coming for 95% from the best Cru (classified Terroir ), and 100% for the prestige cuvees.
