Carlton Palmer




Palmer started his career at West Bromwich Albion , coming through their Youth Team in time for the 1985-1986 season. He earned a move to Sheffield Wednesday in February 1989 for £750,000, where he made his name in the Premiership. This lead to him being bought by Leeds United for £2 million in 1994. He later played for a variety of clubs, including Southampton , Nottingham Forest and Coventry City . His management career began at Stockport County , where he served as Player-manager before being sacked in 2003. In November 2004 Carlton Palmer replaced Keith Curle as manager of Mansfield Town , and was appointed permantly to the position in March before being shown the door in September 2005[http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/mansfield_town/4256576.stm .

Carlton now works as a pundit on the BBC show Final Score .

Palmer won 18 Caps for the English National Team , scoring once. His name has become a byword for Marijuana in some circles.
