Capitalism Day is a name sometimes applied to Christmas . The term is generally used two ways. It is used by some Capitalists who are Atheist (particularly Objectivists ) and see the modern process of Christmas, including present giving, as a positive product of capitalism's productivity, and think that it should therefore be named after it. In direct contrast, it is also often used by those who are against the modern commercialization of Christmas, as a way to antagonize it and its affiliation with a system they dislike. Though the term seemed to have evolved on its own in independent situations, many cite this site as where they found the idea. |
