A usually Cylindrically shaped object used for storing other materials, especially liquids and foodstuffs. The most familiar examples are the Aluminum Beverage Can (or aluminium drinks can) and the Tin Can for storing food. The latter normally needs to be opened with a Can Opener (or tin opener).
