OVERVIEW

In ''Call of Duty: Finest Hour'', the player starts off on the role of Pvt. Aleksandr Sokolov, a soldier in the Russian Army who wants to fight the Germans and drive them out from Stalingrad. As the game goes through, Sokolov becomes a spotter for Lt. Tanya Pavelovna, a professional sniper working for the Russians. After assuming the role of Pavelovna, the player takes the role of a Russian officer, Lt. Nikoali Badanov, who is later promoted to Major for his actions. As Badanov, the player gets to ride a Russian tank going through airfields taken by the Germans.

After the Russian campaign comes the British campaign. The player assumes the role of a soldier named Edward Carlyle, who was at logistics at first before signing up to become a Commando. As Edward, the player participates in North Africa in hope of helping the Desert Rats defeat the Desert Fox, Erwin Rommel. The only setback is that there are only about 4 missions in the British campaign.

After the British campaign comes the American campaign. The player first assumes the role of Sgt. Charles Walker, a soldier in the 1st Infantry Division ("Big Red One"). As Sergeant Walker, the player goes through missions in Aachen and Remagen, particular cities in Germany aided by the trusty Corporal Benny Church and other Americans. In the middle of the game, the player also takes the role of Sergeant Sam Rivers, an African-American tank commander in the 2nd Armored Division. As Sergeant Rivers, the player gets to fight in the Battle of the Bulge, taking a lot of German checkpoints while riding in an M4 Sherman tank. The final mission leads to the Remagen Bridge, resuming control of Lieutenant Charles Walker (Walker was promoted through officer ranks later in the campaign and Corporal Church was promoted to Sergeant). During the final mission, the player has to reach the other end of the Remagen Bridge and take out German machine gun nests. After reaching the end, the player has to climb a tower where a German Antiaircraft gun is located. After repelling Germans in the tower, the player has to go to the AA gun and drive off a Stuka attack. After the final mission, Walker removes the Nazi flag from the tower and replaces it with 'Old Glory'.
