Cairo International Stadium is a multi-use Stadium in Cairo , Egypt with a capacity of 74,100. It is currently used mostly for Football matches. The stadium was built in the Cairo district, Nasr City in 1960 , and was inaugurated by President Nasser on the 23rd of July celebrations that year. It was renovated in 2005 in preparation for the 2006 African Cup Of Nations . The Stadium is located about 8 km (20 min) from Cairo International Airport and about 14 km (30 min) from downtown Cairo. |
