Information About

Bridge House School

Bridge House School was established in 1995 by parents in the Franschhoek , Stellenbosch and Paarl area as a response to the lack of good education available in the region.

For many parents who live in rural South Africa , yet want to give their children the best possible education and schooling experience , the only option is to send their children to Boarding Schools far away.

With ''Bridge House'', a small niche market was catered to, offering private boarding school quality education in an English medium to pupils who did not necessarily want to be boarders.

The school opened in 1995 with a few dozen students, and has continued to grow steadily and progressively, with a student population in 2005 of approximately 500.

Bridge House School offers education for all ages from Pre-primary to Grade 12, and has quickly garnered the reputation of being an excellent school, due in no small way to the continuing support and hard work of the Bridge House parents, donations in kind, time and financial support from involved community members and the accepting attitude of the local towns people.

As of mid-2004, Bridge House now provides weekly boarding facilities for up to 40 boys and girls from Grade 7 to 12.

Bridge House has been from the time of its founding and continues to be an active member of the community in which it is situated, using its own resources to bolster the lives of those around it, and inviting fellow students from neighbouring schools to participate in the Bridge House experience.
