Bred in Co Tipperary by James Murphy, Boomerang was sent to Iris Kellett's Co.Kildare yard and jumped at the Dublin Spring Show as a four-year-old in 1970.
Boomerang won four consecutive Hickstead Derby's between 1976 and 1979, and also the Hamburg equivalent in 1976. The pair won the Grands Prix's in seven cities and claimed the main class at Horse of the Year Show and the Royal International seven times.
