GEOGRAPHY Black is located at 31°0'40" North, 85°44'40" West (31.011112, -85.744365). According to the U.S. Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 8.0 Km&2 (3.1 Mi&2 ). 8.0 km&2 (3.1 mi&2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 202 people, 85 households, and 57 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 25.3/km&2 (65.6/mi&2). There were 102 housing units at an average density of 12.8/km&2 (33.1/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 94.06% White , 5.45% Black or African American , 0.50% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 85 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were Married Couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.93. In the town the population was spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
