GEOGRAPHY

According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 91.6 Km&2 (35.3 Mi&2 ). 74.4 km&2 (28.7 mi&2) of it is land and 17.2 km&2 (6.6 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 18.76% water.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 573 people, 259 households, and 188 families residing in the township. The Population Density was 7.7/km&2 (19.9/mi&2). There were 647 housing units at an average density of 8.7/km&2 (22.5/mi&2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.43% White , 0.00% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 1.57% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 259 households out of which 17.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.9% were Married Couples living together, 2.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 24.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.61.

In the township the population was spread out with 17.1% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 15.7% from 25 to 44, 38.7% from 45 to 64, and 24.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 53 years. For every 100 females there were 105.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.3 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $36,042, and the median income for a family was $39,327. Males had a median income of $31,500 versus $26,875 for females.
