Bill And Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure

NES Storyline

In this single-player game you rotate from controlling Bill or Ted in a 3/4 overhead perspective as your gather the "phone numbers" (passwords) of several time travling levels where you must locate a historical figure and return them to 1990 for your high school history report.

As your wander around each world, you meet various people that you need to talk with to gather clues, but you need to be careful as some of the locals are angry and if you touch them they shall take your coins, and if you run out of coins they will lock you up in jail. Luckly, you can collect keys (to escape from jail) and various objects to destroy the angry people such as firecrackers, cassette tapes(that make the enemies dance), textbooks (that make all enemies on the screen disappear) and pudding cups. Locating each historical figure is only the first objective, as you must also locate the "historical bait" hidden in each level that will persuade the famous person to follow you back to 1991 .

Once you successfully locate the famous historical figure, you must then survive the difficult mini-game that involves you manovering your twirling time travling phone booth into the correct pipe line. Each time you move the phone booth you sacrfice a single coin, and when you run out of coins you must restart the level from scratch.

The game did have a password feature, but like must LJN games it was incredibly difficult and had average graphics and sound.

Computer Storyline

The computer version of the game was released for the DOS , Commodore 64 and the Atari Lynx . This game is a single-player Graphic Adventure game where Bill and Ted must time travel to various locations, and collect "Historical Bait" which you must give to each historical figure so they'll go back to thier own time.

Game Boy

The game boy version of the game is loosely based on the short-lived animiated series that was based on the film, and plays similar to Donkey Kong or Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle .
