Bill 'cowboy Rambler' Boyd




Born in Fannin County , Texas , he was only eighteen years old when he formed "Bill Boyd's Cowboy Ramblers" in 1932, playing rural Southwest string band music. In 1934 his group was signed by RCA Records for whom they made a number of highly successful recordings. They became major stars on radio and were offered work in Hollywood films and Boyd eventually appeared in six Western Film s during the 1940s.

For his contribution to radio, Bill 'Cowboy Rambler' Boyd has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame at 6101 Hollywood Blvd.
