BELMONT ADDITION CONSERVATION DISTRICT In 2004 , the Belmont Addition Conservation District was formed, under the City of Dallas Ordinances , with the intent of preserving the unique character of the neighborhood. This was in response to the growing number of "teardown" properties where developers and builders bulldozed vintage homes in order to put up new ones in old neighborhoods. Often, the style of the new homes were completely out of character with the existing neighborhoods prompting labels of "McMansions" or "Starter Mansions". |
