Bell's Amusement Park





HISTORY

Founded in 1951, Bell's was originally a collection of homemade childrens' Rides set up in the front yard of Robert K. Bell . Many of these rides, including a Shetland Pony ride and a Train Ride , were designed and built by Bell himself as a way of entertaining neighborhood children. Though relatively crude by modern design standards, Bell's rides were innovative, well built, and very popular.

Himilaya

The Himilaya starts off slow then gets faster and faster then slow downs and you start to go backwards really fast.


Log Ride



Mad Mouse, 1959 to 1974



Mind Melt, 2004 to current

The Mind Melt takes you 124 Ft. (As high as a 12 story building) in the air really slow and then lets you drop really really fast.

Zingo, 1968 to current

The entrance to Bell's Amusement Park is located near the southwest corner of the park, underneath a hump of the Zingo Roller Coaster . Here, trains of the roller coaster scream overhead as you purchase a park ticket. The Zingo is a John Allen wooden roller coaster and is over 2,500 feet long. Built in the late 1960s, it is Bell's biggest attraction.

BELL'S LEGENDS

  • It is said most of Bell's early rides ended up as either scrap metal or Playground equipment for Drive-in Movie Theater s across the nation.

  • Zingo is rumored to sit above an underground house.



ACCIDENTS

On April 20th , 1997 , a fourteen year old boy was killed on the Wildcat Rollercoaster. The lift chain of a hill broke, causing one car to fall backwards and collide with another. The Wildcat was permanently closed and disassembled.
