Belgrade Stock Exchange




Belgrade Stock Exchange was first founded on November 21 1894 and it functioned until the breakout of World War 2 in Yugoslavia . In 1953 it was formaly closed as the stock exchange did not fit socialist economy of the country.

It was reopened in 1989 as Yugoslavian Capital Market, but after the breakup of the country it was renamed back to Belgrade Stock Exchange. In 2001 large scale privatisation began and the Stock Exchange started trading privatized stock. Year later, trade with Bond s of Republic of Serbia started as well.

In September 2004 , Belgrade Stock Exchange was accepted into Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges.
