Beauty's Confusion

One of the first American bands to continue and expand on the true " Bristol " sound popularized by Portishead , Massive Attack and Tricky in the early 90s, Beauty's Confusion has developed quite a buzz among the independent music underground.

Firm believers in making "intelligent" music, music with integrity and substance, members Jenna Ferone and Chris Caulder Frederiksen (aka "Skip") write music that has as much soul and depth as anything Joni Mitchell or Carole King has written. Critics have said their music is as deep and emotional as the aforementioned artists, and if Mitchell and King were to have come out in the millennium, Beauty's Confusion is what their music would sound like. A high compliment for a very modest pair of songwriters.

Since releasing their debut album "Breathe In" (named after the second track on Frou Frou 's critically-acclaimed 2002 album "Details"), Beauty's Confusion has gone on to produce soundtrack music for video games released on Microsoft's Xbox , and provide background score music for author and independent filmmaker Michael W. Dean 's documentary on legendary author Hubert Selby Jr. In addition to these accomplishments, the duo has remixed many artists, from Bjork to MF Doom , Scotland's Kosheen , Public Enemy , Tears For Fears and even Madonna .

Steadily on the rise, Beauty's Confusion looks to be the first American downbeat electronica group to make a musical impact as strong as the UK's Portishead , this time, a decade or so later.

It has been said that American pop and alternative music today has little soul, no integrity, and is disposable. Beauty's Confusion is a fine argument against that theory.
