Look North is a name used by the BBC for its local regional news programme in three regions in the North Of England . The new corporate ident first began on September 16th, 2002. The Leeds news programme is broadcast from Emley Moor to Yorkshire and the North Midlands . The programme has been broadcasting from Leeds since March 25th, 1968 (in association with Radio Leeds). This was the main programme for the whole of the Yorkshire region until November 11th, 2002, since a new, much more modern studio had been built in Hull, in association with Kingston Communications (Hull's telephone system). The programme used to be produced in a building on Woodhouse Lane, close to Leeds University . A new building was built near the West Yorkshire Playhouse on St Peter's Square, and Look North moved there on September 27th, 2004. The Leeds programme covers the areas of Radio Leeds and Radio Sheffield . Due to the size of North Yorkshire , the listenership of Radio York is covered by the geographically-multitudinous Look North programmes from Leeds, Hull and Newcastle . With Harry Gration at the helm, rugby league received equal (if not more) coverage as football. There is a lot of sport covered on the programme, though there are no Yorkshire football playing in the Premier League and for the foreseeable future. PRESENTERS
