''Bad Boys of Computer Science'' is a Webcomic written and illustrated by Nicholas Yu. Publication lasted from February 2000 until July 2002, comprising about 300 separate items, but not all of those were traditional comic strips.

The comic was originally hosted on the Hierarchy of the Zucchini People web site, until it closed from lack of funds. It then moved to Lazarus World, a site owned by fans of the comic, for the remainder of its publication.

ATTRIBUTES OF THE COMIC STRIP

The comic could be described briefly as autobiographical episodes with punchlines. Most of the strips are based on the author's real-life experiences as a geeky computer science student, with a humorous twist. Continuity between strips is rare, but sometimes present. Most comics are supplemented with a "daily rant" from the author that may give background details on the strip, additional humor, news of interest to readers, or even emotional diatribes on unrelated topics.

RECURRING CHARACTERS

; Nick
: Nick is Nicholas Yu's comic alter ego. Nick can be witty, urbane, and charming at times, but often chooses to be intentionally obnoxious instead.

; Tim
: Tim is the nicest guy of the bunch, but you might not get that impression when you first meet him. Despite not being evil, Tim has a goatee.

; Andy
: Andy is the least concerned with social decorum among the main characters, not that that means very much. Andy can be identified by his everpresent "Beavers" baseball cap.

; Robin
: Robin is the red-haired "girl next door", except with mad coding skills.

; Alison
: Alison may appear demure, but has a knack for thinking things so raunchy that they would shame even Andy.

; Alan
: Alan is the infrequently-seen "hippie" friend.

; Matt
: Matt is the rare instance of a computer geek that can still socialize like a normal person.
