The Act led to the development of the new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) within the Department Of Transportation . This Act established a series of challenging but critically important milestones toward achieving a secure air travel system. TSA's Service Commitment reads, "The ultimate goal of TSA Service is to create an atmosphere that aligns with our passenger's need to be secure while ensuring the freedom of movement for people.
