Austrian Legislative Election, 1956




The elections to the Austria n National Council of 1956 were the first elections after the conclusion of the Austrian State Treaty . The coalition between the ÖVP (led by Julius Raab ) and the SPÖ (led by Adolf Schärf ) was continued.

The FPÖ , founded in 1955 , replaced the VdU (Federation of Independents) on the ballot.
