Asturias is a 4th class Municipality in the northwestern coast of Cebu Province , Philippines . According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 38,961 people in 7,964 households. It is geographically located by the coordinates 123 degrees 42 minutes longitude and 123 degrees 54 minutes latitude. It is bounded by the Municipality of Tuburan in the north; the Municipality of Balamban in the south, Danao City in the east and by Tañon Strait in the west. BARANGAYS Asturias is politically subdivided into 27 Barangay s. Of these, 7 barangays are coastal and 20 are located inland.
