Information About

Appleton West High School

Founded in 1938, Appleton West High School is located at 610 N. Badger Ave. in Appleton, Wisconsin . West is Appleton's second public school and was built to replace Appleton's first High School (which still today teaches students and was featured in the documentary Super Size Me ). In fact, the front of West still adorns the name, "Appleton High School", but has now been renamed "West" due to its location in the city of Appleton. Many of Appleton's current residents were taught at Appleton West, and still hold a fondness towards their High School. Today, with an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students, west is accompanied by two other fully enrolled public high schools and two other parochial high schools in Appleton. West has received many updates since its construction, and continues to provide its students with an education that rivals any public high school in the nation today.
