Information About

Aolese

Many AOLese terms originated with the purpose of saving keystrokes in AOL Chat Room s and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Some examples are "IM" for " Instant Message ", "YGM" for "You've Got Mail", and "YGP" for "You've Got Pictures". As a result many AOLese terms have since become part of the mainstream Internet Slang . The terms may appear in both lower case and capital characters.

Some related terms have evolved based on these, such as "YSHM" ("You Should Have Mail") found in some Simming circles.

Other examples include BRB ("Be Right Back"), TTYL ("Talk To You Later"), OMG ("Oh My God"), WTF ("What the Fuck"), STFU, ("Shut The Fuck Up"), G2G ("Got To Go").
