If it is not based on a periodical such as a magazine or comic, an ''Annual'' may be brought out to praise some celebrity or celebrities, to tie in with a popular TV series or even a holiday camp (such as the Butlins annual). Occasionally the title is used for something that has little hope of any further editions, such as a Movie tie in, especially if, in the UK, it is published in the months leading up to Christmas.
