He began his career for his home town club as a trainee in 1992 and played for four seasons before being transferred to Sheffield Wednesday , a then club record transfer receipt, £2.7 million in 1996. He played for the team in the Premiership days. He also played 3 games on loan with Tottenham Hotspur before returning to Town in 2001. Due to his sublime scoring rate and passion for the club he is often referred to as a legend when talked about by supporters. Whenever he manages to score the commentator that announces the Huddersfield team selection often sings "Boothy, Boothy, Boothy" along with supporters. However, Andy Booth has been rumoured to reach the end of his career with worn out knees. He scored a Hat-trick , all headers, for the club on 18th March 2006 against Rotherham United , his first his return to the club in 2001. EXTERNAL LINK |
