The organization was founded during the December 1992 - January 1993 riots in India which followed the Hindu Right 's attack upon and demolition of the Mosque in Ayodhya - Faizabad , U.P., India, and the follow-on anti-Hindu riots in Pakistan and Bangladesh . The Alliance is involved with other organizations in the campaign " Stop Funding Hate " targeting Corporate America 's donations to the Hindu Right and especially to its front organization, the India Development And Relief Fund (IDRF).
