Alexis met Joe at secondary school, where they collided during an impromptu wrestling match on the school playground. They went on to become firm friends and started to make music when they were 17 of age. They were even friends with Owen Clarke with whom they would share their lunch. Alexis met him and Al 'Do-it' Doyle when they were at University together. Felix Martin came later and Hot Chip was formed. At age 7, Alexis was deeply influenced by Prince . Alexis writes one-half of the lyrics for the band while Joe writes the other half. Joe mentioned in an interview that when Alexis would travel by the Tube or bus, he would write lyrics in his mobile in the form of a text message. LINKS |
