Alexis Glick (born 1973 ) Formerly, she was a contributor for the 3rd hour of NBC 's Today Show . Glick was also a substitute anchor on Early Today in February 2005 and an occasional anchor on MSNBC Live . Previously, Glick was a senior business Correspondent for CNBC . Sources say Glick's appearances on 'Today' have come to an end and she was replaced by Natalie Morales . It is rumored that she may return to CNBC but that has not been confirmed and her future at NBC News altogether is uncertain as of February 2006. Before being removed as contributor from 'Today' in February 2006 , Glick had been considered a possible heir to the hosting duties on 'Today' which had been performed by Katie Couric from 1991 - 2006 , when Couric announced her departure from 'Today' to anchor the '' CBS Evening News ''. The Today co-host slot was filled by Meredith Viera on April 6 , 2006 .

Prior to joining CNBC, Glick worked for Morgan Stanley, where she served as Head of the New York Stock Exchange Floor Operations and became the first woman to manage a Floor Operation for a bulge bracket firm. A member of the New York Stock Exchange since September of 2002, she was also one of the youngest women to ever achieve the rank of Executive Director at Morgan Stanley.

Glick traded Consumer and Entertainment stocks, Utility and Real Estate Investment Trusts and most notably, the Financials including Banks, Credit Card stocks, Government Agencies and Insurance stocks at Morgan Stanley. She was also one of the top producers on the companies Listed Equity Trading Desk from 1998 through 2001.

Glick began her career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Equities Division.

Glick earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Columbia College .
