Alexei (Oleksiy) Mikhailichenko (born March 30 , 1963 in Kiev ) is a former Soviet Ukrainian professional Footballer who played for Dynamo Kyiv , Sampdoria and Rangers . Mikhailichenko was capped 41 times, scoring nine goals for the and won the Gold Medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics . He was also part of Soviet squad at and the . Mikhailichenko also played twice for . After retirement from playing football Alexei went back to Ukraine after beeing offered a position as coach at Dynamo Kyiv. When the legendary Kyiv manager Valeri Lobanovsky died in 2002 Mikhailichenko took over as manager. |
