Having began his career at Blackburn Rovers , he was loaned out to Oldham Athletic and was part of the team that played in the victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup on January 8 , 2005 . He was then loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday , for whom he was instrumental in their rise to the play-offs. Having impressed Tranmere Rovers boss Brian Little on his trip to Oldham, Little swiped for a loan deal which will encompass the first half of the 2005 - 06 season, but he failed to impress. Alex gained a couple of league and cup appearances for Birmingham, following his return, but could not stop the club being relegated to the Coca Cola Championship . He will hope to play more in the Championship, next season. |
