Albina Khamitovna Akhatova ( Альбина Хамитовна Ахатова; born November 13 1976 in Vologda Oblast ) is a Russia n Biathlete . She won the Silver Medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and the Bronze Medal with the Russian relay team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . She won the bronze medal in 15 km in Turin .She finished fourth, but was promoted to third place when her teamate Olga Pyleva was disqualified after failing a doping test. She also won the gold medal in the mass start at the 2003 World Championship held in Khanty-Mansiysk , where she also won the gold medal in the relay. In the 1999 World Cup in Oslo she won the bronze medal and in the 2004 World Cup in Oberhof, Germany , she won the silver medal, both over the distance of 15 km. She also participated in winning the relay in the 2000 and 2003 World Championships. |
