The Airport-Manchester Line or '''Manchester Airport Line''' is a Railway Line in south Manchester . It runs from Manchester Piccadilly through to Manchester International Airport , the third biggest airport in the United Kingdom and the biggest outside of the London region.

It also serves some of the wealthy Manchester suburbs in the area that used to be part of Cheshire .

Services are run along it by:

Northern Rail , whose trains come from Manchester Piccadilly to the Airport via all the stops on the route. These trains have usually departed from other stations in the North-West such as Blackpool North , Barrow-in-Furness , Preston and Bolton . From the south, their trains join from the Manchester-Crewe Line .

First TransPennine Express , who run trains on this line through Manchester Piccadilly. Their services are through services from across the north of England, and from Cleethorpes via all stops.
