HISTORY The airline was established and started operations in 1969 as General Aviation Services in Jersey , Channel Islands . The Air Atlantique name was adopted in June 1977 when charter flights were launched with Douglas DC-3 aircraft. The airline moved to its present base in Coventry in December 1985 . Atlantic Airlines , which previously operated all airline activities for the Atlantic Holdings group (owners of Air Atlantique), was subject to a management buy-out in July 2004 and now operates as an independent company.
