(known in Japan as simply "Aika" {Link without Title} ) is an Anime OVA series which stars a Japanese woman named Aika Sumeragi (voiced by Rei Sakuma ) who works as a salvager for companies that hire her, but gets caught up in a plot for World Domination . This OVA series is available in North America from Central Park Media .
Tokyo has sunk into the ocean, along with most of the world, during a land subsidence. Aika is a salvager who works for a small company run by a father and daughter tandem. Alas, the company isn't exactly successful, and money is needed desperately. Thus, Aika accepts the very dangerous job of acquiring Lagu for a hefty sum. The boss' daughter Rion joins Aika on this particular mission, and the two set off. Later on, Aika and Rion are captured by Hargen -- an effeminate but over-sexed man who wants Lagu and Aika (and just about every pretty girl) for himself. Hargen commands a huge battleship manned exclusively by droves of cute girls in mini-skirts, which should give you a hint as to how much boobs, legs, and panties you'll see along the way. Alongside Hargen is his obssessive sister Nena , who is jealous of Aika . Let's not forget the other salvager Gusto , who's also after Lagu. He's just crazy about Aika too.
Of course, a heroine just isn't a heroine without a little transformation magic. When .
- Aika Sumeragi — A Salvager with a mysterious past. Is considered to be one of the best in the business. Constantly fights with Gusto who either tries to steal her bounty or hits on her. Will do anything to get the job done, even if it means sacrificing her morals. Possesses a unique battle suit made out of 'ultranate', shaped into a golden bustier that transforms her.
- Aida Gouzo — Owner of the K2 corporation, a Salvaging operation, and Rion's dad. Prefers to old onto the old ways (cheapest price for the best service) and principles of doing business. His past with Aika goes far back.
- Alexymetalia Maypia — A spy employed by the government to retrieve information on Lagu by infilitrating Hargen's army dressed as a black Delmo. Runs into Rion and ends up following her.
- B.A. Bandora — Gust's partner. May not always agree with him but helps him out anyway.
- Black Delmo — The lowest ranking of the army, in charge of carrying out simple missions, mass attacking using hand-to-hand combat and the administration of the ship (the lowest jobs).
- Blue Delmo — The middle-ranking officers. They carry weapons and perform security duties such as defending the ship against intruders and pilots.
- Ludwig Hargen — The evil mastermind who, even though contracted by the military to find the Lagu, wants it for his own ends. A scientist who can see the Lagu is more than just an energy source. Enjoys commanding his army, especially the bridge (ever see a captain's chair that was lower than the rest of the bridge?). Passive but calculating. Plans to repopulate the Earth with his Delmo Delmo staff. Pimp to the max.
- Gust Turbulance — Another Salvager who has made it big in the business. Would like Aika to go out with him but she refuses. Seems to end up in the right place to get the bounty. Spends most of the time showing off but he does get the job done with enough skill.
- Nina Hagen — Another Salvager who shows up when Aika accepts the job to look for the Lagu. Cruel and sadistic, she walks around in her bare essentials and makes sure the black Delmos are punished. Loves her brother Hargen and is extremely jealous when he looks at another woman, namely Aika. Likes to drink until drunk and smash up her room when mad.
- Rion Aida — Aika's salvaging partner and her Boss' daughter. Wants to run the business better but her father keeps to his policies. Does not like being left out of transactions nor having Aika do the work herself.
- White Delmo (Captain) — The commanders (seems more like, the girls with the bigger, uh, bust) and Hargen's personal bodyguards. They are responsible for the smooth operations of the ship.
