Adams Island is a small Rock y coastal Sub-antarctic Island embedded in thick Bay Ice most of the year, lying at the Western side of McDonald Bay , about 17 km (11 Mile s) west of Mabus Point . Adams Island is located at . Adams Island was discovered by the Western Base Party of the Australian Antarctic Expedition , 1911 - 1914 , under Douglas Mawson , and named by him for the Boatswain of the expedition ship Aurora . |
