Actor Analysis can be seen as an approach for managing environmental issues. These issues are often very complex, because of the fact that many parties are involved. All these parties have their own interests, goals and strategies which might differ a lot. Actor analysis is there to provide a structured inventory of all these parties and their interests in order to get an overview of the matter. Instead of parties we rather speak of actors since it comprises both individuals as groups like Institutions , administrative authorities or Consumer Organisations . All these actors can change an existing situation by their priorities or Value Systems . EXAMPLE There already have been many changes of environmental behaviour in the past that can be described via an Actor Analysis. For example now adays all cars are equipped with catalytic converters.
