Abu Dhabi TV is managed by the United Arab Emirates' largest media group, Emirates Media Inc. (EMI). EMI, the largest and most diversified media corporation in the Arab world, enjoys editorial and administrative independence while somewhat dependent on government funding through its attachment to the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Information and Culture. Launched in 2000, Abu Dhabi TV presents news programs every three hours. It produces nearly 90% of the programs that it broadcasts, including political, current affairs, cultural, entertainment, drama, and documentary features.
