Abbotsford is a city located in Clark County in the U.S. State of Wisconsin . As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,956. Abbotsford is located in both Clark and Marathon Counties .


GEOGRAPHY

Abbotsford is located at 44°56'48" North, 90°19'6" West (44.946716, -90.318333).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 7.9 Km&2 (3.0 Mi&2 ). None of the area is covered with water.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,956 people, 817 households, and 516 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 247.6/km&2 (641.1/mi&2). There were 870 housing units at an average density of 110.1/km&2 (285.1/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.57% White , 0.15% African American , 0.10% Native American , 0.05% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.66% from Other Races , and 0.46% from two or more races. 1.99% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 817 households out of which 27.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.7% were Married Couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.8% were non-families. 31.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.92.

In the city the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $36,949, and the median income for a family was $46,058. Males had a median income of $30,650 versus $22,727 for females. The Per Capita Income for the city was $17,133. 6.7% of the population and 1.9% of families were below the Poverty Line . 3.8% of those under the age of 18 and 13.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
