Information AboutZed (band) |
|
Zed are a pop/rock four-piece from Christchurch, New Zealand . HISTORY The band released their debut single ''Oh! Daisy'' followed by ''I'm Cold'' and ''Glorifilia''. Their fourth single, ''Renegade Fighter'' gave them their first number one single in New Zealand. They then went on to release further singles ''Come On Down'' and ''Drivers Side'' all from their debut album ''Silencer''. Zed took a long break after the huge success of ''Silencer'' to work on some new material in California for their follow-up album, ''This Little Empire''. The first single on ''This Little Empire'' was ''Starlight'', a track penned by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer , and this track also featured on the soundtrack for the 2002 film, '' The Hot Chick '', gaining the band initial exposure in the United States. They then returned to New Zealand to release ''This Little Empire'' and their second single from that album ''Hard To Find Her'' followed by a cover of The Beach Boys ' classic ''Don't Worry Baby'', ''She Glows'' and most recently ''Firefly''. Zed took an "extended break" in 2005, with band members looking into new musical ventures. The band's future seems uncertain. MEMBERS
