It is west of the county town of Shrewsbury , just off the B4386 to Montgomery and near to the River Severn , at Grid reference ( map ). There is one local pub, the Yockleton Arms, several miles west on the B4386, a Village Church (C of E) with its own website, and a village hall, as well as an old people's home in the old Vicarage. Previously Yockleton boasted a school, a garage a Post Office and a pub right in the heart of the village. These have progressively closed as the village has developed into a commuter village for Shrewsbury . There is a lovely Motte And Bailey in a field not far from the church. It is near to Ford, Shropshire and Westbury, Shropshire . |
