Woodall Rodgers Freeway

Current plans for the Trinity River Project call for Woodall Rodgers to be extended west of I-35E across the Trinity River , where it would connect Downtown Dallas to Oak Cliff . The bridge spanning the river would be constructed by Santiago Calatrava . In a separate development, plans exist to roof a section of the freeway between Pearl and Akard, turning this area into a park, and thereby connecting the downtown Arts District with Uptown.

The highway is named after Woodall Rodgers , a former mayor of Dallas responsible for the construction of Love Field and Central Expressway.
