He married Mary Talbot , daughter of Gilbert Talbot, 7th Earl Of Shrewsbury , on 4 November 1604 . He died in 1630, aged 50 and childless, and his titles passed to his brother, Philip Herbert . Herbert has been claimed as the ' Fair Lord ' of William Shakespeare's Sonnet s, which indeed were dedicated to "Mr WH", "the only begetter of these ensuing sonnets". Herbert, some years Shakespeare's junior, was a patron of the playwright. However, other names have been promoted as the identity of the youth {Link without Title} .
