BACKGROUND Westone Laboratories Inc. was established in 1959 by the Ron Morgan in the United States of America. It started out as a home-based business in his log cabin and has since developed into a family business which employs over 130 employees. Its current president is Randy Morgan. PRODUCTS Products made by Westone include Canalphones , Ear Plugs , stethoscopes and assistive hearing and communications equipment. Canalphones Westone Laboratories Inc. has been one of the pioneers in the creation of canalphones. Its initial model, the UM1, led to the creation of the first Shure E1, which was a rebranded version the UM1. It currently has two different ranges of the canalphones, the Universal series and the Elite series which has musicians as its target audience. ]] Currently, the Elite Series has three canalphones, namely the ES1, ES2 and ES3. The Universal Series has two canalphones, the UM1 and UM2. AFFILIATIONS Westone Laboratories Inc. was one of the pioneers in the making of Canalphones , otherwise known as In-Ear Monitors. It had originally created the E1 for Shure , another maker of high-end audio equipment.
