Generally speaking, the "West End" usually refers to the West ern Sector or Suburb of a City . It is a curious fact that many cities have their more prestigious neighbourhoods to the west, probably because prevailing winds blow from that direction, thus keeping the smoke of industry away from the richer inhabitants. Places called the "West End" include:
