West Canada Creek is an important water way in Oneida County and Herkimer County .

A Dam near Trenton Falls in Oneida County helps form an artificial lake called Hinckley Reservoir, named after a community in Oneida County at its western end. A series of Waterfall s on the river, named after Trenton Falls, was a major tourist attraction in the past.


HISTORY

In 1863, William Seward , then Secretary of State to Abraham Lincoln , met with representatives of foreign nations at Trenton Falls to persuade them not to recognize the Confederacy .
