GEOGRAPHY

According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 66.3 Km&2 (25.6 Mi&2 ). 49.8 km&2 (19.2 mi&2) of it is land and 16.5 km&2 (6.4 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 24.95% water.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 1,112 people, 465 households, and 330 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 22.3/km&2 (57.8/mi&2). There were 753 housing units at an average density of 15.1/km&2 (39.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.56% White , 0.27% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.09% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 1.08% from two or more races. 0.18% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 465 households out of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% were Married Couples living together, 6.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% were non-families. 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.80.

In the town the population was spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 30.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 104.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $45,625, and the median income for a family was $54,632. Males had a median income of $40,625 versus $29,659 for females.
