2000 , the population is 90,354 and by
2004 was estimated at 109,924. It was named for the first
President Of The United States ,
George Washington . Its
County Seat and largest city is
St. George 6 . In
March 2006 Washington County was declared the fifth fastest growing county in the
United States .

The county includes an area along the
Old Spanish Trail called
Mountain Meadows .
Zion National Park is located in the eastern part of Washington County.
In addition to the primary and secondary schools that compose
Washington County School District , Washington County is home to
Dixie State College Of Utah located in
St. George with a campus extension in
Hurricane .

The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.36.
In the county, the population was spread out with 31.20% under the age of 18, 11.60% from 18 to 24, 22.40% from 25 to 44, 17.80% from 45 to 64, and 17.00% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 97.30 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.40 males.
