INSTANCE Warsong Gulch was one of two Battleground Instance s introduced in Patch 1.5 of the MMORPG ''World of Warcraft''. Located in the southern region of the Ashenvale forest near the northern entrance to the Barrens , and each entrance guarded by many NPCs . The entrances to the battleground is either through Silverwing Outpost for Alliance or Warsong Lumber camp for Horde. The Silverwing Sentinels and the Warsong Outriders go to battle in this great Battleground! GAMEPLAY Warsong Gulch is a 20 man Capture The Flag Battleground Instance (10 per team). The objective of the match is to capture the opposing factions flag and return it to your base to win. This is one of two Battlegrounds (abbv. BG) to allow mid-level characters with BG instances for levels 10–19 (added in patch 1.8), 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 (brackets). The battleground area is evenly divided into two halves, one for Alliance and one for Horde. In order for a game to start there must be at least 5 players on each team.
Upon victory the players are rewarded with 3 tokens, that may be given to an NPC outside of the instance to recive a reputation bonus. After the release of Patch 1.7, one token is awarded when your faction is defeated. You can still turn in 3 tokens to get a reputation bonus (in other words, 3 defeats is the same reward as 1 win). Some players are known to stay at the highest level of their tier group and collect the best weapons and armour to participate in Warsong Gulch at their characters highest ability. These characters are often refered to as 'twinks' by other players. SEE ALSO REFERENCES |
